Currently lives in BKK and is here from Nonthaburi. I have an IV pension and EL as well. Only the EL has been causing more and more problems for a good 2 years. For the past 2 years, I have had to send the pay slips for the last 3 months to the EL every three months. They then recalculate the EL and shorten it. After that I have to for the past three months. Between CHF 800.00 and CHF 1,200.00 (approx.
31,056.42 Baht and 46,584.64 Baht).
Now this is more than tedious and the earnings go back to the EL every three months and I don't have any more after three months. Like before!
I spoke to my employer and we came to an agreement. That the company terminated me. They did this on October 10th on January 31st, 2025.
Now after I sent the copy of the termination to EL. Has the EL been recalculated.
Now from January 1st, 2025 the IV pension and EL have been increased. This is based on decisions by the Federal Council, the Council of States and the Grand Council.

Akaphat, Naphat and I had a serious conversation.
It was about behavior in public. Thais are rather shy and reserved when it comes to showing their affection in public. It is not common in Thailand to walk arm in arm or to kiss. For us Europeans, this is rather strange and takes some getting used to, but it doesn't spoil the love, but you have to know.
He is also willing to marry me here in Switzerland. Although he has three times as many costs as me and also needs almost three times as many documents (approx. 12 pieces) and of course all of them have to be translated into English and these translated documents have to be certified. A document translation costs him the equivalent of around CHF 15.00 and the document costs around CHF 80.00. Now you can work out what he pays just for the documents including translation.
Then there is the visa for the marriage. Which costs around CHF 100.00 and then the corresponding flight BKK > ZRH.
Then there are the costs for registration and for the civil marriage. Which costs around CHF 300.00 - CHF 400.00.
In any case, he loves me and wants to stay here and live with me. And get/find a suitable job in the airline business. Preferably at ZRH airport.
Let's see what comes of it and when we both do something together. Until January 30, 2025. Because then he has to go back to BKK.

So, I received mail from my prince in Bangkok today. A Christmas card and a New Year's card. He sent them on January 1st, 2026.

So today I was in Zurich with Naphat and André on Narzissenstrasse. We went to see a lawyer who, after we made an appointment, took the time to see us on a Sunday.
A huge THANK YOU for that!
He's clarifying a couple of things for me and making some inquiries.
He said I should refrain from applying for any further invitations to stay in Switzerland for at least a year. This is because the relevant authorities can see what happened previously, including any rejections. He said I can only try again after August 2027.
Applying for a language course with an internship for Akaphat wouldn't be very effective, as he believes it's rejected 80% of the time.
The best thing would be for him to find a company in Bangkok that would hire him, so he can submit an employment contract along with his residency application. Even then, the MIKA (Swiss immigration office) could still reject the application.
Regarding marriage... Should we wait until after he has his residency status and a B or C permit before proceeding?
Should I also invite him as a tourist for two or three months? That increases the chances of the immigration office (MIKA) approving the visa. I should also go to Thailand and spend a lot of time with him, taking many pictures together. And also take pictures of him with his friends and acquaintances. Basically, we should maintain a long-distance relationship. When we get married, I should submit plenty of pictures and correspondence with him to the immigration office and the relevant authorities. This way, they can see that the situation has changed, the relationship has solidified, and that we haven't just recently met.
